How to Fix Windows Installer Errors



When you get the Windows Installer Errors it means that your windows has a failed installation of its MSI Package or that the Windows Installer Service has been disabled.To remove the Windows Installer Errors message that you get when you try to install new soft ware you have to boot your computer and run it in safe mode. When windows starts up, click the Start button. In the Start menu find the run button, click it and a pop up box will appear.

The pop up will have a field labeled as Open. Tyoe msiexec/unreg in the box and press enter. Keep in mind to copy the command properly. This command unregisters your Windows Installer Service. The next step is registering the Windows Installer Service again. So click the Start button again. Look for the Run button and in the Open field type msiexec/register. Check the spelling and be sure to copy the command properly. Once that is done, press the OK button. Your Windows Installer Service is now reregistered.

Another way to fix this problem is to activate System Restore. System Restore reverts your computer to a previous setting before you added or installed software that may have damaged your computer. This is activated by accessing the Control Panel. Look for the Performance and Maintenance icon in the Control Panel menu.  Click the Performance and Maintenance icon and look for the System Icon.


Click the System Icon and a pop up will appear. In the pop up box, select System Restore. You can select at what point you would want to revert back to. Restore points can also be user defined so be sure to set one when you feel that your computer has all the programs and files you need. Be sure to back up any new files you have.Windows Installer Errors are caused by a failure in the Windows Installer Service and a way to fix it is through unregistering and the registering it again.
